How the custom domain process works
Our custom-domain setup is CNAME first.
- You add the custom subdomain in TestimonialSoftware.co.
- We show the CNAME target for that hostname.
- You add the CNAME in your DNS provider.
- You click Sync Statuses or Verify in TestimonialSoftware.co.
- Cloudflare usually validates the HTTPS certificate automatically after the CNAME is detected.
- If automatic validation needs help, TestimonialSoftware.co shows a TXT record to add.
CNAME is always required. TXT is conditional.
Before you start
- Make sure you can access your domain's DNS records.
- Decide which subdomain you want to use.
- Open the Domain section in your TestimonialSoftware.co dashboard.
You do not need to move your domain, website, email, or hosting provider.

Rules to follow while editing DNS
Use only the hostname target
Keep proxying disabled
Avoid conflicting records
Leave website and email records alone
Troubleshooting
The domain remains in Provisioning
Confirm the CNAME target, proxy setting, and conflicting records. Wait a few minutes, then sync again.
A TXT record appears after sync
This can happen during certificate validation. Add the exact TXT record shown and keep the CNAME unchanged.
The DNS provider will not accept the record name
Try proof instead of proof.yourdomain.com. For TXT records, try _acme-challenge.proof.
The main website stopped working
A CNAME for proof should not affect the main website. Check whether @ or www was changed by mistake.
The domain opens but shows an SSL warning
The certificate may still be provisioning. Check whether a TXT record is requested, then verify again.
